Now, just a quick note for parents and students that are eagerly looking forward to our December Holidays’ Chemistry Programmes.
Based on numerous requests from parents, we will be adding a new Chemistry Headstart Workshop for Sec 3 (2010) students.
A) Sec 3 (2010) Chemistry Headstart Workshop
Q) Who should attend this workshop?
Ans: Every students that is going to study Pure Chemistry or Combine Science (Chemistry) in Year 2010. This is meant for all Sec 3 (2010) students as well as IP students that are going to learn Chemistry in the new academic year. Many a times, students get “lost” when they made their transition from Sec 2 “General Science” to Sec 3 Chemistry studies. This workshop will put student in very good state to understand what their Chemistry teachers is going to teach them. This will be an eye opener to instill an early interest in Chemistry (by linking to everyday
lives) and confidence to do well in school for this abstract subject.

B) Sec 4 (2010) Essential Concepts Revision Workshops
Q) Who should attend this workshop?
Ans: Sec 4 (2010) students that score less than 70% (A2 grade) for Sec 3 EOY Pure Chemistry or Combine Science (Chemistry) need to attend the following series of workshops. These workshops will cover with them (and revises) thoroughly on the essential concepts that they need to know on several key Sec 3 Topics, before they proceed to Sec 4. In Sec 4, the school will be rushing through fast-and-furious on application topics – and if you do not have a good foundation of the key Sec 3 topics (such as Balanced Chemical Equations, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bondings, Acids, Bases and Prep of Salts), they will suffer among their peers. School teachers will be too busy to finish the Sec 4 syllabus and will not have time to revise the Sec 3 key concepts with them. For IP students, do call and enquire for suitability.
