Hi Students (and Parents),

With GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations coming in less than 5 months time, how many of you are prepared for it?

Not sure? Take a look at your Mid-Year Examination Paper + Sec 3 End-of Year Paper + Continual Assessment Tests recently. If you are not scoring B3 and above, it might shows that you are not that ready for ‘O’ Level Examinations.

Click HERE for Early Bird Price registration!

Some would argue that you do not have enough time to revise and memorise all the materials before you have gone for your Mid-Year Exams, and thus the not-so-good results you are getting.

But is that true??????

Now, Chemistry is a abstract subject of Science (as compared to Physics and Biology) and you need good understanding of the essential concepts in order to score. Only about 10% of the marks are awarded based on recalling of facts (i.e. memorising itself might help here), with the rest (90%) all based on your understanding and application to challenging questions.

More importantly, ALL the Chemistry Topics are inter-related and it is the norm this days that a structured chemistry question is based on 3-4 topics. As such, it is of paramount importance to have a strong foundation of essential concepts in all the chemistry topics! SORRY you cannot skip topics and expect to do well in Chemistry!

Every June Holidays, we have groups of students that came to our June Holidays Intensive Revision Bootcamp to master their Chemistry concepts. These students realised that June is perhaps the last chance for them to really master Chemistry – and they continue to do well for the ‘O’ Level Examinations in 5 months time

[98% of our 2009 batch scored 'A's or 'B's from 'D' - 'F' grade]

[97% of them achieved minimum 3 grades jump]

This June Holidays, i will be personally coaching you on the following key essential chemistry topics:

CM1: Atomic Structure & Chemical Bondings

CM2: Acids & Bases

CM3: Mole Calculations

CM4: Rate of Reactions & Energy Changes

CM5: Preparation of Salts & Qualitative Analysis (QA)

CM6: Redox

CM6A: Electrolysis

The bootcamp is a highly participative event and covers the following key areas:

Comprehensive 100% coverage of each topics

Understand abstract concepts in an easy to relate manner

Learn and Apply strategies on real examination questions

Time management enforced during every workshop

Pre & Post review assessment for checking level of understanding

Note:

1. CM1, CM2, CM3 and CM5 are suitable for Sec 3 students also. Do call us to discuss suitability if you are not sure.

2. Follow-up revision classes will be available (as an option) to prepare you towards ‘O’ Level Exams if you wish to join

3. Need A-Math or E-Math topical workshops instead? Click HERE to find out more.

Announcement:

In the last 1 week, you should have noticed on the right-hand-side of this blog, a new banner on Recommended Resource for GCE A-Level H2 Chemistry Tips! Yes, we have gone live with that new blog to provide unconditional resource and a platform for Advanced-Level Chemistry Students.

The new blogsite is dedicated to help:

Chemistry (A-Level/IP/IB) Students – source of Advanced Chemistry Tips & Exam Strategies

Educators (Teachers/Tutors) – platform to discuss & learn effective Coaching methodologies

Parents/Guardians – tips to help their child to achieve the Chemistry grades they truly deserve

If you find the information available on SimpleChemConcepts.com to be too basic for you – do check out this new blogsite for Advanced Level Chemistry Students.

Why a new Chemistry Blogsite?

Back in 2006, i observed that many students are surfing internet to find additional resources to help them improve their Chemistry grades. However, there wasn’t that many quality Chemistry Website or Blogsite to help them at that time.

In 2007, i embarked on starting the first Chemistry Blogsite (www.SimpleChemConcepts.com) in Singapore with the primary aim of helping GCE O-Level students to learn Basic Chemistry in an interesting and interactive way , complimenting what they are learning in their secondary schools. After 3 years, the blog has grown in popularity and has an average of 600 daily page views from readers spanning across 121 countries / territories. It is now a common platform for students doing Basic Chemistry Syllabus (GCE O-Level / IGCSE / IB /IP etc) to discuss and learn Chemistry Tips & Exam Strategies together.

With many batches of my own students going for higher education in College and studying Advanced-Level (A-Level) Chemistry, a new website to discuss more Advanced Chemistry Concepts is required . This prompted me to start A-Level H2 Chemistry to provide support for Junior College (JC) & Integrated Programme (IP) students doing GCE A-Level Chemistry (H1 / H2).Related Articles:

Hi Readers (both Singapore as well as Overseas),

In the last week, you might have noticed the red square banner on the right hand side of this Chemistry Blogpost.

Yes! I am working on a new chemistry blogsite for students that have passed their GCE (Ordinary) O-Level Chemistry Exams, and moving on to GCE (Advanced) A-Level Chemistry Exams.

With many batches of my own students going for higher education in College and studying Advanced-Level (A-Level) Chemistry, a new website to discuss more Advanced Chemistry Concepts is required . This prompted me to start a new Chemistry blogsite to provide support for Junior College (JC) & Integrated Programme (IP) students doing GCE A-Level Chemistry (H1 / H2 / H3). Of course IB students will also find it useful in their course of studying Advanced Chemistry.

This new blogsite will be based on the syllabus of H2 Chemistry, which is offered in all Junior Colleges (JC) and Centralised Institution. You can check out Singapore Examinations & Assessment Board (SEAB) for more details on the syllabus.

Of course, i will still continue to blog actively here. Nothing will change.

In short, different groups of chemistry students will benefit from the different chemistry blogsites:

SimpleChemConcepts – Discussion on Basic Chemistry Concepts

For students taking:

GCE O-Level Chemistry Exams

GCE N-Level Chemistry Exams

Year 1 – 4 IP Chemistry Exams

Year 1 – 4 IB Chemistry Exams

other equivalent Chemistry Exams

New Chemistry Blogsite – Discussion on Advanced Chemistry Concepts

For students taking:

GCE A-Level Chemistry Exams

Year 5 – 6 IP Chemistry Exams

Year 5 – 6 IB Chemistry Exams
