Hi, my ans is D because it is CnH2n+1COOH is e gen formula for carboxylic acid. Also, The total Mr of the compound is 88. After reacting with ethanol, C2H5OH, the product would be the ester in option B in the ans. QED :)

Hi.

I would go for D.

A and D seems to be the answer as they both have th alcohol structure.

However, A do not have the molecular mass of 88. Instead, A has a molecular mass of 60. Hence, it is wrong.

My ans is D.
The structural formulae adds up to a Mr of 88.
And it only shows COOH func group, not an ester which is B&C
