Let’s check out a question on Isomerism in Hydrocarbons. Ten Years Series has a couple of questions similar to this one adapted from a top secondary school in Singapore.

My answer would be C
A is out as there is the double C=C bond
B and D do not have the same molecular formula

09|Jul|2008 2Formally, Isomers are defined as substances that have the same chemical / molecular formulae but different structural formulae.
In the question above, MTBE has chemical formulae as C5H12O.
chemical formulae of the choices:
A) C5H10O
B) C4H10O
C) C5H12O
D) C5H10O
So the answer must be (C).
