Well Done Gary.

Answer is indeed B. This is indeed testing you on the oxidation properties of
Alcohol.

Hey Jennifer.

Answer should be B for this one.

Alcohol are oxidized to Carboxylic Acid by oxygen gas (present in air), and in the process
water is also produced.

This is one of the Chemical Properties of Alcohol.

Nope.Option A is definitely wrong because for ethanol to be an acid,it must be oxidised via a oxidising agent(KMnO4 or K2Cr2O7) or by atmospheric oxygen. In this case it's oxidised by atmospheric oxygen.

Products of oxidation of alcohol will be the carboxyllic acid and water. So my answer will be B.
