The time of the year where all students (minus tertiary) can finally take a good break has started.
Secondary school students have already enjoyed close to a month of holidays while primary school students are starting to enjoy theirs. Yes, not to mention the PSLE students that gotten their results today. This is the time for them to learn other things that they missed out during school time, to do things they have not managed to do so. A time for them to relax, recharge and reinvent their building mind blocks.
I happened to hear from a former student that some secondary schools in Singapore can actually ask them back in December to start classes for next year syllabus. MOE has really opened up their regimental style and allows schools to plan their own strategy. Good or Bad?? Students and Parents would be the best person to share their thoughts.
Education system is opening up. Recently, i heard from the founder and co-author of AskAlwaysLovely blogger (free resource for A-Math and Chemistry platforms) that there was a report on home schooling in Singapore which is something really popular in US. Frankly, this is the first time i have heard it and the concept does sounds fresh to me. Just wondering how soon this will become popular in Singapore, which is highly competitive for both parents and students alike.
