I was revising the topic Atomic Structure & Ions with Secondary 3 students in my GCE O-Level Chemistry Tuition Classes recently and realised that they have very poor concepts in Proton Number & Nucleon Number. Many mentioned that their teachers in school did not emphasise the importance of this topic, which is so so important!
Some do not really know the definition (check out my previous blogpost on Terms used in Atomic Structure) while others do not know the significance of these two numbers.
