    Hi Sadia,

    Answer is D.

For C – if you draw out the dot-and-cross diagram of CO2, you will realised that the central atom is Carbon, NOT oxygen atoms.

Hope this helps. Think about it.

    D.

if i’m not wrong, lone pair of electrons is the pair of electron that is not shared/bonded with other atoms. (in simple terms)

so, if we draw out the structure and examine the electrons,

A has no lone pair of electrons,
    B only have one pair,
C do not have (cos C-0 is double bond),
    and D has 2 pairs.

hence, D should be the answer.
